Living with BPD doesn't have to be so black-and-white.
Our vision: To enable those diagnosed and affected by BPD to EMBRACE this mental illness and THRIVE in SHADES OF GREY.
Borderline Personality Disorder is a serious and complex mental illness which affects millions of Americans in similar ways as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and bipolar disorder. However, BPD remains largely unknown and stigmatized, mainly due to negative media portrayals and lack of positive public role models. Like a physical illness, no one chooses to have BPD, nor is anyone to blame. BPD affects not only those afflicted, but their family members, friends, and loved ones; we invite all to join together and 'EMBRACE' BPD through:
E mphasize Education
M ake Treatment a Priority
B uild Awareness
R educe Stigma
A dvocate for Reform
C reate Community
E nhance our Relationships
Together we can create a supportive community, raise awareness, reduce stigma, increase empathy, promote education and skills training, improve relationships, and enable those with BPD to THRIVE in work and life.
